How Sod Installation Works
Sod installation is a same-day transformation, but the prep work before delivery and the watering commitment after installation determine whether it roots or fails.

Soil & Grade Assessment
Before sod is ordered, we look at the existing soil condition, grade, and drainage. Sod laid over poor soil or a drainage problem fails at the same rate as sod over a good base — the sod does not fix the underlying issue.

Soil Preparation & Grading
Old turf, weeds, and debris are removed. The soil grade is corrected so the finished lawn drains away from structures and sits level enough for the sod to make uniform contact. Uneven soil creates dead spots.

Sod Delivery & Laying
Sod is laid the same day it is delivered. We stagger seams like brickwork so joints do not line up. Edges and curves are cut to fit rather than left ragged.

Rolling & First Watering
Once the sod is laid, it gets rolled to improve soil contact and saturated with a heavy initial watering. The first 24 hours of water are the most important — sod that dries out before it starts rooting does not recover.
